Capped off my last day of my travel in Davao.
I was in a two week solo backpacking adventure “around” Philippines. My original plan was to come back by ship going to Cebu from Mindanao but unfortunately, all tickets we’re sold out weeks before my intended date. Never regretted because I had a blast in Davao. I had a very memorable adventures with strangers.
I was very nervous at first because I had no concrete itinerary, only the destination. I brought my laptop with me to research for any adventures I wanted to attend to.
At the first day of my trip, I already had the problem as all bus bookings were sold out until Jan 1. I hate to admit it but I tried to bribe for a ticket and see if the guy would get me one. He got me one. Because I was traveling alone, it was easier for him to squeeze me into a trip.
I arrived the next day in Naga City. Sogo Hotel will welcome you when the bus drops you on their terminal. I decided to go to the other Hotel near it. I was allowed to check-in earlier without extra charge. The first question I asked was if there was a wifi on the room. For an additional 150 pesos/day, I accepted it as I needed to start doing my itinerary.
….fast forward… maybe I will write this part later
My next destination was Legazpi City, then Sorsogon City.
Matnog Sorsogon
Allen Northen Samar - Met a Yolanda survivor and had a fruity/meaningful discussion with one girl, two boys, one bakla and one tomboy.
Calbayog Samar
Catbalogan Samar
Tacloban Leyte — where I spent my New Year with evacuees. I danced, made noise and watched the fireworks display prepared by Dragonfireworks of Bulacan.
Lilo an Southern Samar - I met a guy who was also going to Surigao. We decided to tag along. He is an OFW from Algeria with lots of adventures/stories.
